David M Robinson reimagines Cloud Nine
DMR reimagines its signature Cloud Nine collection with softer shapes, updated proportions and the same nine diamonds at its heart.

Some jewellery collections become signatures without trying. DMR’s Cloud Nine has always been one of them. Named for the highest level of cloud formation, it was never loud. The appeal was more restrained: nine round brilliant-cut diamonds set into brushed gold, catching light like sun through cloud.
Now, DMR has revisited the collection, for the next generation of its clients. The intention was not to reinvent what worked but to refine it.
The design team has softened the shapes and adjusted the weight. The diamonds stay. The brushed gold remains. But the pieces are now more sculptural. According to Vix Smith, Head of Design at DMR, the brief was about evolution, not revolution.
“It’s been wonderful to develop exciting new designs for the next era of Cloud Nine,” she says.
“Reimagined for how we live today whilst keeping the soul of the original, with a modern, effortless, everyday feel.” She adds that the team has “softened the shapes, adjusted the weight, and made sure each piece feels even more natural to wear, while keeping the nine diamonds and brushed gold exactly as they should be.”
The reimagined collection features a necklace, bangle, rings and earrings, introduced in 18ct yellow gold, white gold or platinum.

The Cloud Nine medallion features nine diamonds with a total carat weight of 0.38ct, set into softly brushed gold and worn on an 18-inch chain. The pendant sits flat against the collarbone, and the reverse can be engraved. This new addition, is larger and designed to be layered with any of DMR’s five house chain styles. It is substantial enough to feel like a statement but quiet enough for everyday wear.
The bangle is a subtle yet unmistakable piece. At 0.52ct total diamond weight, the nine stones appear to fall naturally across the brushed gold surface, as if scattered by the sky itself. It is not a heavy cuff, but a slim, elegant profile that can be worn alone or stacked.
For rings, there are two options. The Cloud Nine ring is bolder in form, with 0.42ct of diamonds, while remaining softly sculpted. The slim version carries 0.25ct of diamonds on a narrower band, designed to be worn alone or stacked with other rings. Both share the same textured finish and the same constellation of nine stones.
The earrings are huggie style, crafted with nine diamonds in each earring, echoing the same light-through-clouds effect across both lobes.
What holds the collection together is consistency of touch. The nine diamonds on each piece are identical in cut and placement. The brushed finish on the gold is uniform. Nothing competes. Nothing clashes.
Cloud Nine launches this month across the brand’s UK showrooms and online. It feels less like a reboot and more like a quiet update from a brand that knows its own strengths.
