As we initially toyed with the idea of ‘Collaboration’ as an issue theme, Essential HQ was immediately filled with creative suggestions. It is true that throughout our lives, we have been surrounded by unique collaborations that demonstrate the coming together of the finest minds whether in art, luxury, fashion or food.

For collaborations are no new phenomena, but rather a timeless method of seamlessly fusing creativity, often from very different fields or parts of the globe, breaking down barriers and obstacles between industries. In a world that is so often trapped in a rut of division and competition, Issue 74 highlights some examples of those that rise above that. We shine a light on some that unite for the greater good, whether in the interest of social causes such as illustrator Rosa Kusabbi – whose artwork we share on the cover of this issue – and her focus on female and queer empowerment, or the ever-evolving and boundary-pushing worlds of fashion and luxury. 

Within the pages that follow, you will find that the true essence of collaboration lies in the fusion of talents and the creation of something greater than the sum of its parts. They don’t simply bring forth interesting products and projects, but also tell stories of shared dreams and mutual inspiration.
