Stay at home and taste along with icons of the drinks industry in The Whisky Exchange’s all-new online tasting series
words by Will HALBERT
Because staying at home doesn’t mean drinking alone, our friends The Whisky Exchange have put together a series of online talks and tastings. Always passionate about spirits education, the team at The Whisky Exchange will be keeping spirits lovers entertained over the coming weeks without any need to leave the comfort of your living room.
Hosted by The Whisky Exchange ambassador and resident whisky whiz Billy Abbott, and head buyer and all-round wine and spirits buff Dawn Davies MW, the series will provide an online alternative to The Whisky Exchange’s calendar of in-person events and include cameos from some of the biggest names in drinks.
The series will provide an online alternative to The Whisky Exchange’s calendar of in-person events as well as the usual product and category showcases, covering a range of different spirits (not forgetting wines and beers).
Viewers can taste along with the team by purchasing a specially-curated Perfect Measure sample pack for each session from thewhiskyexchange.com in advance.
As May is World Whisky month at The Whisky Exchange, tastings will be focusing on countries less well-known for their whisky making, featuring cameos from some of the industry’s biggest names.
The next event will take place on the 14th of May, when Israeli distiller Milk & Honey will give whisky fans the chance to try its new Classic Single Malt Whisky (yet to be released in the UK) in a tasting led by head distiller, Tomer Goren.
Continuing the focus on world whisky, the 21st of May will see famed Indian distillery, Paul John’s head distiller, Michael D’Souza lead an immersive tasting live from the distillery out in Goa, India.

Wrapping up World Whisky month on the 28th of May, James Bowker, ambassador for Japanese whisky master Suntory, will take us through some of the distiller’s most famed releases.
Customers who purchase the Perfect Measure packs for each session are able to join a private video chat room, allowing them to speak directly with the hosts during the tasting. The tastings will also be broadcast live on The Whisky Exchange’s Facebook page and will be available to watch again after the tasting.Details of upcoming and past tastings, as well as all the tasting packs, can be found online on The Whisky Exchange’s Virtual Tastings page.
