Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder on Latest Levi’s® Vintage Clothing Collection

Happy Mondays frontman, Shaun Ryder, gives his thoughts on the LVC x Central Station Design collaboration

The Spring/Summer 2021 Levi’s® Vintage Clothing collection pays homage to the explosive music scene of Manchester, England in the late 1980s. Visually, no one is more essential to that musical moment than Central Station Design, the design studio behind many of the album covers and posters of the era.

To celebrate this iconic and influential group of artists and designers, LVC have re-imagined the artwork of five iconic Happy Mondays records as a lineup of special edition T-shirts, a hoodie, and a jacket.

The Freaky Parka is an oversized zip parka featuring graphics from ‘Freaky Dancin’’ that have been made into a multicolor repeat pattern.

The 1980s Hoodie features a blue and green block pattern that replicates Central Station’s artwork for Happy Mondays’ first-ever 12” single, the 1985 ‘Forty-Five EP,’ popularly known as the ‘Delightful EP.’
